Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport

The Crescent City has a new world-class airport, providing a welcoming gateway to the home of Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest. The new centralized building is an open concept design, with light pouring in from soaring glass window walls and a huge overhead skylight. Three levels of sun-filled space and a Jazz Garden with local music in the baggage claim area welcome travelers to this popular destination. Curved to evoke the winding Mississippi River, the new terminal is designed around an efficient central security screening hall, fanning out to 3 concourses filled with restaurants and shops representative of the famous NOLA taste and culture of this historic city.

Fish Construction’s scope of work included the 35 gate counters clad in composite metal, over 50 check-in counters faced with locally-sourced red oak panels, a 60-foot long curved information desk, curbside check-in counters, CBP command control center millwork, Flight Information Display structures throughout the airport, various information and transportation counters, and eight large stainless steel clad air columns.
